Client Update for August 4, 2020
Our team at Glover Family Dental, are committed to ensuring your safety and the safety of our team during this pandemic. During the 3 month shutdown we met regularly by Zoom and discussed all aspects of the constantly changing information regarding the new norm we could expect. We were able to stay connected and share not only work concerns but personal concerns during these unprecedented times. As a result, we put new protocols in place to prepare for our return to the office.
At the time of sending this update, Renfrew County continues to be one of the safest regions in the province and had recorded very few cases over the past 2 months. This is a huge success we should all be proud of. However, we all must do our part to ensure this continues. It only takes one person to bring the virus into our community, so maintaining strict guidelines is essential. We do not want to go back to shutting our community down.
We will not be treating anyone at this time who is Covid 19 positive, or has been exposed to anyone who is or has been Covid 19 positive. We will be screening each person on the phone prior to your appointment for any signs or symptoms of Covid 19, as well as any exposure to the virus. If you are positive then it is essential that you see your doctor and quarantine for 2 weeks and/or test negative, before we can treat.
We ask for your honesty in reporting symptoms. If positive, we will support you and ensure you receive the urgent care you require, but we are going to do everything possible to ensure our office is a Covid 19 free space. Where possible, we will treat Covid positive emergencies over the phone for the safety of our team and our clients.
When you arrive at the office we will screen again and take your temperature. If your temperature is elevated, you will be asked to see your medical doctor, and your appointment will be rescheduled.
All Glover Family Dental team members are screened daily and temperatures are taken. We follow the same protocol for our team for the safety of team and clients.

An update on our team and some new faces:
A stable long term, committed and philosophically aligned team has been the cornerstone of our success for over 44 years. These times of unprecedented change, as well as circumstances beyond our control, have meant the team is growing and changing. Change is never easy but it is exciting and essential as we strive to be a leader in the post covid era!
Christin Smith has joined Karen, in the reception, screening, administration and front desk. Christin comes to us with 30 years of front desk administration experience in a person-centred relationship-based practice in London Ontario. She recently moved to Arnprior to be closer to her family. It is a gift to find someone with her skills and experience and we welcome Christin to the team.
Kerry who was previously at the front desk has returned to our office after her maternity leave as a Level 2 dental assistant. Kerry and her husband Rob have a beautiful daughter, Wren. Kerry will be a part of the assisting and sterilization team with Justine, Pam Hadley, Dr. Vaughan and Dr. Chris.
Pam Selkirk, who has been a face in the hygiene department for over 40 years has taken a leave of absence from client care for medical reasons. She is still working behind the scenes with phoning, special projects, team development and treatment planning for clients. We look forward to the time when she can be more active.
We are fortunate to bring Nikki L’Ecuyer to fill Pam’s role at chairside. Nikki came highly recommended and has been working with Pam to make the transition as seamless as possible. Nikki was selected because of her technical skills, as well as her ability to provide the care, friendship, empathy and gentle touch you have grown to expect. Big shoes to fill but she is up for the challenge.
Dr. Chris Glover is slowly returning to the office after welcoming twins into their growing family! Myles and Andrew arrived on June 11, 2020. Chris is starting reduced hours in Arnprior on August 4th and hopes to be back to regular hours by September (sooner if Myles and Andy give him permission). The babies, big brother Will and big sister Emma keep Chris and Lesley very busy and sleep deprived.
Karen, Jacqueline, Pam H, Justine, and Vaughan continue to be committed to our vision and mission.
We all look forward to serving each of you and your circle of family and friends.
Perhaps most exciting is we are able to open our practice to new patients who are looking for the person centred care, diagnostic expertise and long term relationships we have built our practice on since 1976. With the opening of our Renfrew office, and an expanding team, we are able to see new patients or people who may want to find out if there truly is a difference. There will be more on this in our next update.
Our mission is to help each person thrive for a lifetime.
